How to reach the Parks of Val di Cornia
The Parks of Val di Cornia are located 80 km south of Livorno and are crossed by the SS1 variante Aurelia main road that connects Rosignano to Civitavecchia.
They are sign-posted on the SS1 at junctions:

The system of museums and Parks of Val di Cornia encompasses the 5 towns of Piombino, Campiglia Marittima, San Vincenzo, Suvereto and Sassetta.
Jutting out into the sea, Piombino is a city rich in history and protected natural environments. A stroll in Piazza Bovio, splendid panoramic point facing the islands of the Tuscan archipelago, is a must.
Il Castello di Populonia
One of the attractions of Piombino is the medieval castle of Populonia, perched on the top of the headland, facing the Gulf of Baratti.
Campiglia Marittima is now one of the most enchanting and best conserved medieval towns on the Etruscan coast. The old town is dominated by the Rocca which has a public park and a museum inside its defensive walls.
From the hills of Campiglia Marittima the olive tree lined road drops to Venturina Terme where there is a thermal park with establishments and accommodation facilities that offer visitors fantastic wellness holidays.
Suvereto is an enchanting medieval town, still surrounded by the town walls. The cork trees, mixed with the perfumed and diversified Mediterranean scrub, vineyards and age-old olive trees make for a unique landscape.
