Baratti Car Park, near the Necropoleis: “Casone” car park (capacity: 100 cars, 6 coaches). Visitors to the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia can park free of charge in this car park. Coaches bringing visitors to the Park must clearly display the access permit, received when the booking was made through the Parchi Val di Cornia booking office.

In prossimità del Centro Visita, gratuito. I bus possono accedere fino alla biglietteria, dove si trova uno spazio idoneo alla manovra.
Sulla provinciale SP 20, gratuito. Permessa la sosta anche ai bus. Dista circa 800 mt dal Centro Visita del Temperino (seguire indicazioni Temperino).
Situato nell’area dei vecchi impianti minerari e ai piedi di Rocca San Silvestro. Destinato alla sosta di auto e bus.

Reserved for wheelchair users, the car park can be reached from Via Leporatti, taking the dirt road on the left at the feral cat colony.
At Sterpaia Park there are many public pay and display car parks for cars and camper vans along the coast from Perelli to Torremozza).
There is a system of pay and display car parks along the coast of the Sterpaia Park (East Coast of Piombino) and the Gulf of Baratti whose management and seasonal tariffs are regulated by resolutions passed by the Piombino Local Council.
Most of the car parks are for cars only but there are also some car parks for caravans and camper vans with loading and discharge service.

The opening of the parking areas in the coastal area of the Sterpaia Park has been postponed to April 18, 2025, with a new council resolution, and they will remain open until October 5, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, as per the Council Resolution of the Municipality of Piombino no. 288 dated November 13, 2024.

Payment for parking in parking lots is made through an automatic parking meter. The parking meters are always located at the entrance of each parking lot and also inside the parking lots themselves.
Non-resident users can purchase a Parking Pass, valid for one week and for one vehicle only at a price of € 50.00 for cars.
Until 5 October 2025, the subjects indicated in letters a), b) and c), providing that they have paid the Tourist Tax and other local taxes, can purchase season tickets from Parchi Val di Cornia spa, without the possibility of reserving spaces, valid in the car parks listed in point 3) above:
The season ticket must indicate the period of validity and the registration number of the vehicle and it must be positioned in a clearly visible spot inside the vehicle. The validities and costs are indicated below:

The water loading and discharge service is free of charge. The service is available 24/24 on the days when the car parks are open.
Breaches of tariff rules will be prosecuted in accordance with the ANPIL Municipal Regulation concerning fines.
The Gulf of Baratti has unique landscape and natural characteristics that must be protected also by controlling car, camper van and coach access.
In periods of peak tourist influx, vehicles that are wider than 2 metres, including camper vans, are not permitted (municipal ordinance). The Caldanelle car park can be used (entrance to Baratti).
The car parks at the Gulf of Baratti are for cars only, except for Caldanelle that has parking spaces for 70 caravans and camper vans with water loading and discharge service. Instead, Casone is reserved for visitors to the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia in possession of an entrance ticket; there are also 60 pay and display spaces.

You can reach the Gulf of Baratti from the Principessa SP 23 main road that connects San Vincenzo to Piombino; it is clearly signposted. Access to the road in the Gulf is controlled.

Al Golfo di Baratti si accede dalla strada provinciale della Principessa SP 23 che unisce San Vincenzo a Piombino, con ampia segnalazione in loco. La strada interna al Golfo ha accesso regolamentato (vedi Ordinanza Comune di Piombino)
A shuttle service (line 15E) operated by Tiemme Spa is available during certain times of the year, providing connections throughout the Gulf of Baratti, including the Baratti and Populonia Archaeological Park (both the Necropolis and the Acropolis).
Line 15 includes stops and connections between Piombino and Populonia Station, and vice versa. Line 15E runs between the Caldanelle parking area (suitable for motorhomes and private cars) and Populonia, with intermediate stops, and return service.
The Caldanelle car parking area and the shuttle service are free of charge.
The Caldanelle parking for motorhomes is subject to a fee (see: 2025 Rates for Campers and Motorhomes).
