The Archaeo-mining Park of San Silvestro, located on the hills of Campiglia Marittima, tells the story of a vast mining area, characterized by its copper, lead and silver deposits. Here, you have the opportunity to board a mining train and live the inimitable experience of travelling the mineral extraction and processing sites, crossing the Lanzi-Temperino Tunnel (where the temperature is 13-14° C): enjoy a new way of experiencing “history”. The heart of the park is Rocca San Silvestro, a medieval mining and metalworking town. Radiant and proud, this stronghold dominates the surrounding countryside, guarding its “piece” of history.

This Museum hosts Maria Micaelli’s extraordinary collection. More than 50 dolls, dating back from the end of the nineteenth century up until the 1980s, including unique items and artistic and artisanship masterpieces created by the most important Italian manufacturers. This surprising itinerary narrates a history of customs, styles and materials – from porcelain to bisque, from rag to celluloid, along with thin felt, cloth and papier-mâché – illustrating specific moments of recent Italian history. The remains of ancient thermal structures rise at the top of the acropolis in the Archaeological Park of Baratti and Populonia. Indeed, since ancient times, the Val di Cornia area was well known for its hot water springs and intense geothermic activity. The area still features some of the best-known Tuscan thermal establishments: with their wellness centers, the thermal baths of Venturina Terme and Sassetta are ideal places for relaxing and invigorating your body and spirit.
